Our Purpose

The Salt & Light Project was created from a simple belief: meaningful connection is often built in small, ordinary moments. A shared table, a familiar game, a creative activity, a remembered song, or a conversation that continues over time can become something deeply valuable.

Through thoughtfully planned programs, we bring volunteers, program leads, groups, and local facilities together to create welcoming spaces for shared activities, consistent engagement, and connection across generations.

The                 Behind the Work

Heart

Quinta and Jessica

My name is Jessica, and I’m a wife, mother, and Boerne community member with a heart for bringing people together through thoughtful service.

The Salt & Light Project began, in many ways, with my grandmother. Through my relationship with her, I saw how meaningful simple, consistent presence can be. A visit, a conversation, a familiar game, or time spent together at the table can become something deeply valuable. These moments may seem small, but they have a way of bringing warmth, familiarity, and connection that lasts.

As I spent time with her, I began to see how many opportunities there are to bring people together through ordinary, thoughtful acts of service. The Salt & Light Project grew from that desire: to create spaces where volunteers, residents, families, and local communities can share time, use their gifts, and build connection across generations.

My hope is that this work reflects the kind of care that is personal and intentional — reminding people they are seen, known, and welcomed.
